Before I start talking about my latest adventure, put your shoes on, grab your keys, and
Google this place: Teanaway Country Store. This charming spot is open year-round from
Thursday to Monday, 10 AM to 5 PM, and is a must-visit for anyone exploring the
beautiful Teanaway Valley.
As you walk up to the store, you can already see the thoughtful details that make this
place special. The friendly atmosphere welcomes both humans and pets alike, with dog
water bowls outside and fresh coffee waiting inside.
Walking through the door, I was genuinely taken aback. Usually, I have a good idea of
what to expect when visiting similar shops, but I purposely didn’t check this one out
beforehand. I wanted to soak in the vibe entirely. Wow, was I surprised—frickin’
surprised! When my crew and I walked in, we were immediately captivated. Traci, the
owner and curator of this fantastic store, greeted us with warmth and humor. If you
know this area at all, you’ll recognize that it’s a hidden GEM nestled between Cle Elum
and Ellensburg, with little else around.
Teanaway Country Store is the perfect place for locals and visitors alike. It serves as a
market, gift shop, hiking supply store, bike rental shop, bird-watcher meetup place, and
camping supply depot, all rolled into one. Traci has truly thought of everything! I love
how the store features a mix of high- and low-end items. For example, there’s regular
sunscreen alongside premium options, which is a thoughtful touch.
Additionally, you’ll find a men’s shaving section, baby gifts, and an assortment of stylish
Teanaway shirts and hats, kids toys , Sunglasses, lotions, decor, and some organic
groceries plus a whole lot more, she always keeps some staples too for locals, eggs,
and milk etc. I couldn’t resist buying a sweet hat that perfectly captures the outdoor
spirit of the area!
The overall vibe of the store is distinctly mountain and outdoor-themed, with plenty of
Sasquatch goodies to satisfy your quirky side. Traci’s excellent sense of layout and
arrangement makes it easy to browse. From my experience running a store, I can tell
you that proper arrangement is an art; she nailed it! Even better, I stumbled upon
something I collect: cards featuring a certain F-word. While it might not be for everyone,
gifting someone a beautifully crafted card with an unexpected twist brings me joy. I
found two here—enough said!
If you're looking to quench your thirst, be sure to check out the cooler filled with an
impressive selection of drinks. You can find the usual colas and sodas, but also a
variety of non-alcoholic options ranging from wine to beer to spirits. I didn’t know they
made those without alcohol! It’s refreshing to find such a diverse selection on the east
side of the mountains. Plus, they even have Mexican Coca-Cola, which my kids happily
grabbed!
I genuinely enjoy traveling to small towns and seek out unique spots. This, my friends, is
one of those places you cannot miss. When you find yourself in Cle Elum or Ellensburg, I
double dog dare you to get your ass to this unique store! It’s the perfect starting point
for your Teanaway Valley adventures, providing those extras you need for hiking,
camping, or just enjoying the stunning natural beauty of the area. I hope you will be as
