The other day, I went to Base Camp Books & Bites in Roslyn, Washington, a charming
town nestled in Kittitas County. Yes, I've been there before, but this time I paid much
better attention to what was going on.

Walking in, I saw books, then coffee, then snacks, and a whole bunch of other fun and
funky items. It's a bookstore/coffee shop/gift store/restaurant/speakeasy that perfectly
encapsulates the eclectic spirit of Roslyn. You might wonder how all this works
together, but it does! Sometimes we don’t need a reason, but I think it works because,
firstly, every employee is so nice, and that's huge! Then there's the delicious coffee, and
the handpicked book selection is perfectly curated. (Hold on, there is more!)
Now let's talk customer service in this unique Roslyn establishment. Every person there
smiled and said hello, offering a true warm welcome to Kittitas County. That’s a
wonderful start. I pride myself on knowing good customer service like many of us do,
and they nail it here.
Inside, there are some seating options upstairs in the coffee/book shop area, so you can
sit, people watch, and enjoy your beverage. Try out a book to buy or just chill. It's a total
local hangout or an ideal tourist attraction for those exploring Roslyn and the
surrounding areas of Kittitas County.

They also have quite the menu with excellent choices, drawing both locals and visitors
from all over Washington State. Breakfast is served from 7 AM to 11 AM, and lunch
from 11 AM to 4 PM. They have soups, interesting salads, and even a Cubano
sandwich—now I’m definitely in… YUM! They certainly don't neglect kids here; they have
a great kids' menu as well.
Now let’s talk about dinner and the speakeasy downstairs. There's a bar and dining area
downstairs, and kids can go there too. The dinner menu features charcuterie boards, elk
sausage flatbread, and a burger called “The Drunken Cheeseburger” with
whiskey-caramelized onions and bourbon aioli. HOT DAMN! They have a fantastic
bartender who makes outstanding craft cocktails. I also have to mention the impressive
collection of spirits, some rare and expensive, plus an incredible wine list and craft
beers, not to mention mocktails that will blow your mind. They have a “not-small-at-all”
whiskey collection that has been carefully selected by the owner. They have an
incredible “Wine Library”—I love that they call it that.
Hold on, there is more! Outside, they have a lovely seating area called the Roslyn Yard
with their own food truck. They play live music, have movie nights, and it’s a central
location for the farmers market. This makes Roslyn an excellent destination for enjoying
outdoor activities and community events in Kittitas County.
This is what I want you to get out of this blog:

10.The owners have it going on here.
