Let me take you to a badass hotel that I recently had the privilege of staying at in Kittitas
County.

Hotel Roslyn is an incredible destination worth checking out when visiting Roslyn,
Washington. Tucked away in this quaint town (which, by definition, means "attractively
unusual or old-fashioned"), Hotel Roslyn embodies that charm perfectly. This boutique
hotel is small, stylish, and independently owned by the passionate Ellen Edenkrans, who
is dedicated to creating a unique experience for every guest.
Ellen offers six different room types that cater to a variety of needs, ranging from cozy
studios and spacious suites to inviting townhomes and rooms with ADA accessibility,
ensuring that everyone can enjoy their stay. Each room comes with amazing patios
perfect for soaking in the sun or snow while drinking some wine you probably bought
today. The decor is tastefully curated, showcasing a modern farmhouse vibe with a
splash of southwestern flair. For those traveling with a larger party, I highly recommend
the townhouse that sleeps six; it’s an ideal choice for families or group getaways. If
you’re getting married in Kittitas County, consider renting out all the rooms to celebrate
with your peeps in one fabulous location.
One standout feature of Hotel Roslyn is its contactless check-in and check-out, perfect
for those who prefer a seamless experience. However, I highly recommend stepping into
the boutique to meet Ellen if you can. She curates an impressive selection of unique
items that you won’t find anywhere else, showcasing her exquisite taste and eye for
detail. Being Swedish, she takes pride in bringing spectacular products from Sweden
into her store—items you won’t want to miss. You’ll definitely want to browse the
boutique if you’re on the lookout for cool and unique items that can help express a
sense of badassery in your own home.
As an interior designer by profession, I find immense joy in discovering inspiring places
like Hotel Roslyn. I love the thrill of exploring a well-curated boutique, where you can find
items that may inspire your own design projects. Recently, I was introduced to a
delightful Swedish candy called “Lakrids By Bülow” by a friend who had traveled to
Sweden. To my surprise and delight, Ellen has it available here! You must try it (yes, I’m
pressuring you!). It’s chocolate-coated licorice, and trust me, it’s DIVINE.
For the locals in Kittitas County, if you're in need of a break for a night, why not consider
renting a room at Hotel Roslyn? After checking in, you can explore the local culinary
scene by dining at one of the restaurants nearby. Whether you’re in the mood for fine
dining or casual fare, you’ll find many cool joints to satisfy your belly. Don’t forget to visit
a cozy dive bar for a nightcap, letting yourself indulge in the relaxed atmosphere while
pretending you’re on a mini-vacation.
If you’re from what we call “the West side,” I would confidently grab you by the arm and
march you here. We all need a moment to escape from our everyday routines, and
traveling within our stunning Kittitas County can be both fun and interesting. Come to
Roslyn, escape for a night or a weekend—whatever you choose, just get out here and
explore the beauty and charm that Kittitas County has to offer.
