A WASHINGTON WINE OR LOCAL BREW

The Junior Ranger Program:
If you’re a parent or guardian with young kids at home, you may be running out of ways to keep them busy and engaged. The Junior Ranger Program is here to help with more than a dozen fun (and educational) activities that your kids (and you) can do at home! Learn about the 40th anniversary of Mount St. Helens’ eruption, craft a critter, complete a word search, or gaze into the constellations. Some activities can be done indoors, while others can be done outside in nature if you have a space to visit that allows you to keep a safe distance from others. Once your kids have completed their activities, print off their Junior Ranger certificate and have your very own Junior Ranger ceremony congratulating the young ones for learning about nature and doing their part to keep everyone safe! Explore these activities with the Junior Ranger in your life.
Nick Zentner’s Geology Series:
Lastly, while we’re home-bound, you can find an entertaining, educational opportunity within these videos from geologist and Ellensburg local Nick Zentner. The Central Washington University professor has been producing a fascinating geology series from home! Keep your mind active and enjoy his videos which delve into local topics including Liberty Gold, the Ginkgo Petrified Forest, Ellensburg Blue Agates, and more.
