CWU Symphonic Band Concert "Bridges"

May 28, 2024

In its simplest form, a bridge can be a structure carrying a road or path across an obstacle. The Central Washington University Symphonic Band under the direction of Dr. T. André Feagin (director of bands) seeks to explore this concept in its final concert of the year titled, “Bridges.” The concert is scheduled for May 28, 2024 at 7:00 pm in Hertz Concert Hall (McIntyre Music Building). The program will feature works from the standard wind band repertoire and contemporary works for winds and percussion. The Symphonic Band is excited to collaborate with Benjamin Smethurst who will serve as narrator for Steve Danyew’s emotional work Into the Silent Land. The concert will feature composers Brian Balmages, David Maslanka, John Philip Sousa, Jack Wilds, and Clifton Williams. We hope you can join us for this evening of music designed to bridge people together through the power of music. The concert is free, open to the public, and will include a pre-concert talk with the conductor.
