Grab your leash and enjoy a peaceful stroll through local parks with your pup. With a multitude of dog-friendly parks in Central Washington, you are sure to enjoy some quality playtime. One option is the Rotary Off-Leash Dog Area in Ellensburg. This fenced-in area leaves you at ease knowing that it is a safe place for your dog to run free. With bark, pavement, and grass there is versatility in landscape and texture to engage your dog’s senses. Rotary is also adorned with sculptures of dogs and a few other sensory objects like large pieces of wood. You can sit back and relax on one of the provided benches under a tarp for some nice shade. Other pet-friendly parks include Dawson Park, McElroy Park, Umtanum Creek, and Irene Rinehart Riverfront Park.
There’s nothing better than kicking back on a sunny patio with your pup at your feet, and our local breweries love hosting your pets! Visit Dru Bru’s Snoqualmie Pass location to enjoy mountain views, a cold, mountain-made beer, and a pet-friendly beer garden. Dru Bru’s Cle Elum location also features a dog-friendly patio, and Mule & Elk Brewing does as well. If you’re in Ellensburg, be sure to swing by Whipsaw Brewing, where pups are allowed inside as well as outside, for a beer for you and a dog treat too!
