All We Want For Christmas is Outdoor Adventure!

December 20, 2023

Central Washington is vibrant in any season but during the winter months the scenic landscapes take on an exceptional sparkle that glimmers a Winter Wonderland. The winter magic is nothing short of spectacular. With the Christmas spirit in the air, we couldn’t help but feel inspired to write a Christmas Wish List. After all, we’ve been recreated responsibly all year thanks to the Plan to Play Pact, and that deserves a spot on the nice list. All we want for Christmas is to simply enjoy the outdoors in Central Washington.

Dear Santa, here is our Christmas Wish List:

Snoqualmie Summit is the mecca for outdoor adventures in Central Washington. With sports ranging from skiing and snowboarding to snow tubing to Nordic skiing, there are unlimited ways to enjoy the snow parks. Not only is Snoqualmie Summit an adventurer’s winter dream, but they are open during the warmer months as well. Offering trails to hike and bike, as well as an adventure park for those looking for a little extra adrenaline. Click here to learn more about adventures at Snoqualmie Summit!

The snow capped mountains peaking above thousands of acres of evergreens with the crisp, fresh air on your cheeks, as you glide through the back trails of Central Washington is a peaceful and exhilarating experience that should most definitely be on your bucket list. Many of our lakes have surrounding trails that offer diverse landscapes of forest, mountain, and lakeside views. Whether you’re cross country skiing or snowshoeing, our trails offer a scenic winter experience that encompasses the magic of the season. Click here to learn about back country trails in Central Washington

Ellensburg is a charming town that is bursting with an appreciation for the arts. With numerous galleries, local events, and a monthly art walk, it’s no wonder that Ellensburg is at the top of many Art Enthusiast lists. Ranging from the classic-western work of John Clymer showcased in the Clymer Museum, or the historical works on display in the Kittitas County Historical Museum, the undeniable Western influence on the town is unmistakable. If you’re one who appreciates a more contemporary taste, Ellensburg is home to Gallery One, who also offers classes and events if you’re one whole like to be more hands on. For us, we would simply like to sip a glass of Fortuity wine and admire the rotating, local showcase at Nuwave Gallery who is partnered with Fortuity Cellars. For an even more unconventional art adventure, check out Dick and Janes, an award-winning, live-in display of sculptures, traffic reflectors and more. Can’t get enough local art? There are galleries throughout Central Washington! Click here for more art galleries and click here for more museums.

Central Washington thrives when it comes to locally crafted beer. No matter which town to stop in, there are numerous opportunities to have a cold one. Many even offer seasonal brews for those beer consumers that like to sip in season. Whether you visit Mule and Elk in Roslyn, Dru Bru in Cle Elum or for an Aprés Ski at Snoqualmie’s Summit, or make your rounds in Ellensburg at Iron Horse, Whipsaw Brewing, Ellenburg Brew and Tilted Tree Cider, or the newly named, Rock and Reef Brewing, there is no shortage of delicious craft beer during your time in Central Washington. Cheers your loved ones with the gift of a cold brew and warm memories. Click here for your Central Washington brewery guide!
